It takes a lot of time and effort to make tunes on the old software, without a lot of the time-saving features of modern music-making software. Some of the tunes on the pack have been 2–3 years in the making.

This time around I say fuck Spotify, it is a complete joke. I will not be uploading the tunes to Spotify this time around. I will however say this: if by any chance one of the tunes becomes massive in the dance and I feel I have to release it, I might just have to do that. But rest assured I will do a VIP and send it out to everyone that bought the pack, deal?

What I am trying to do is bring back the sound of DnB records that mean so much to me. By taking the time to use the old software I used in 2002–2009, namely Logic 5.5, I am hoping to capture some of the magic of the era.

It takes a lot of time and effort to make tunes on the old software. Some of the tunes on the pack have been 2–3 years in the making.

The tracks here will be on Spotify but they will be 2 minute radio mix versions, and the DJ mixes will only be available here. None of this music will be on the download stores such as Beatport. I am over the vanity metrics of Beatport number 1s, and I also have a big problem with how much the corporations have infiltrated, diluted and commercialised DnB. So here we are selling tunes out the back of my car.

I have a big passion for the sound of classic DnB made in the times before I was even a producer. Many of my biggest tunes were made all in the box using software from 2002 onward, but I grew up listening to music made on EMU samplers.

This dub pack represents a good chunk of the tunes I have not already put on the Secret Dub Club. They were the ones I was thinking might end up on my upcoming New Thousands album, but I feel they sound like they really belong here.

It really is a very time-consuming task to make this music on hardware. It is not the same as making music on the new software, and each step in the process takes many more hours.

You will get both WAV and MP3 versions of the tracks.

I don’t say it enough, but I really do appreciate all the support I get here from you lot on the Dub Club. I have a family, and for me to take so much time to make this music means I have to make it financially viable — and you make that happen for me. You are literally funding my ability to make the music that needs to continue to be made in the old way and with the old sensibilities.
